The Animal Welfare Officer skill set describes the skills and knowledge required to manage an animal welfare team.

By successfully completing the Animal Welfare Officer Skill Set, you will achieve competence in the following units:

• AMPA2006 Apply animal welfare and handling requirements
• AMPA416 Oversee humane handling of animals.

DURATION:  2 consecutive 1 day online face to face workshops using Microsoft Teams, listed below, practice on the job followed by an observation assessment by our Assessor. All training and assessment is expected to be completed within a 6 week period. You must be observed by the assessor in a live-work environment handling and monitoring animal movement. This observation may need to take place via a real-time video call (eg. Facetime or Microsoft Teams). 

Please note: company approval may be required should a real time video call be needed for the observation assessment.
If enrolments for this course do not meet the minimum required (5), bookings will be automatically transferred to the next available course. Notification will be given 10 days before the initial course date.
